"The kiss of dawn" in the British top 40

This is a bit sad,but I'm sure things will go better.Anyway the single is only at the begginings and it is a very good one in my opinion.It deserves to reach top 10.
But that was the situation on its release,I'm sure it has improved 'till now.


HIM single fails to make it into British Top 40 on release

[color=violet] Finnish rock act HIM’s latest single release, a track called The Kiss of Dawn, failed to break into the official British Top 40 chart on the week of its release. The song entered the British chart at 59, outside the official Top 40 list.
The Kiss of Dawn is the first HIM single in four years that has not made it to the Top 40 in Britain. So far the love-metal band's highest UK entries have been with Solitary Man, which went in at number nine in 2004, and Wings of a Butterfly, which was ranked tenth on its release in 2005.
The Kiss of Dawn is a cut from HIM's new album Venus Doom, which was also released at the beginning of this week in most European markets.
On the more specified UK Top 40 Rock Singles Chart, on the other hand, HIM made it to #1. The band took over the top position from another Finnish group, Nightwish, whose Amaranth single now slips down to number two.
The Rock Chart measures the success of artists whose music is classified as rock’n’roll. Other more clearly defined lists include the Indie Chart, the R’n’B Chart, and the Dance Chart. The official singles chart takes into account over-the-counter record sales as well as Internet downloads.

Charts are only statistics not music, even if they were not in the charts that doesen't matter because they're the best band anyway but if they are no 1 in charts that's awesome and i've been expected this *love*

You are so right sweety ,they are always numer one in our hearts and really is better if we don't live our lives or guide our tastes in music only by the charts , because they often lie, but if is number one right now ,well this is fabulous !! they deserve it completely !!!

I don't follow music charts because what I normally listen to doesn't do well on the charts to begin with. Not a big fan of mainstream stuff, but out of curiosity, I looked up Venus Doom on Billboard's charts and was pleasantly surprised-it was actually on there!

You can say that you don't care about charts,but sometimes they are very important because they can show the value of musicians' work.
And the fact that "Kiss of dawn" is no. 1 in UK don't tell me that this doesn't make you happy.

ok, let me explain... or at least try
so, "Kiss of Dawn" is on 1 now, but before this, there was no song in the chart, or of another good band, and even if they were, they were somewhere lost, and they didn't stay there for long... Why? because charts are commercial, they are made to make people buy more things, and only rarely a good song, a good band makes to get to the top, otherwise only commercial music. I'm happy made it to the top, because it cut through that commercial rubbish like a knife through cheese, but I don't know how long will it stay there
