| AUGUST 16 2007 5 questions for outlandish Finnish goth-rockers HIM, who cast a shroud of doom over the Molson Amphitheatre (909 Lakeshore West) with LINKIN PARK, MY CHEMICAL ROMANCE, TAKING BACK SUNDAY, PLACEBO, JULIEN-K, MINDLESS SELF INDULGENCE, SAOSIN and PROJEKT REVOLUTION Tuesday (August 21) 1. Which artist or artists would you love to collaborate with? Amy Winehouse, doing a remake of Rehab. 2.What's your biggest regret? That I was never able to party with Amy Winehouse before we both went to rehab. 3.What actor would you want to star in the film version of your life story? I was going to say Chuck Norris, till I realized it would've turned the movie into a documentary. So I'd have to go with Arnold Schwarzenegger. 4.If you'd never gotten involved in writing and playing music, how would you be making a living today? By studying the Roswell case and possibly opening up a souvenir shop. 5.Best high? Seeing my baby daughter being born. [he means Venus Doom, the new album- - i'll put up the explanation a bit later] | |

| Amy was also in rehab in aproximately the same period as Ville, and Lindsay Lohan too...and mrs. Winehouse has that single, you know, "Rehab" and Ville seems to like it +as for the explanation with his daughter being born... i wondered and wondered and WONDERED why people said it was Venus Doom...but then i came across a pretty interesting thing VENUS, the Goddess of love, is said to be the daughter of the Sea and the Sky.sounds ok, but if we dig deeper, we find out that she's born from the genitalia cut of from Uranus, which fell into the sea...Aphrodite was known as the Greek goddess of love, beauty, sexual desire and fertility. According to Hesiod, she was born when Uranus, father of the gods, was castrated and his genitals thrown into the sea. Uranus's genitalia and the sea foam it mingled with are the supposed parents of Aphrodite, who rose from the foam and was carried by waves to Cyprus. This is why she was named Aphrodite, which literally means "foam-born", and is also known as Kypris and Cytherea. The goddess of love is depicted in many different ways; perhaps the most famous image of her is Botticelli's painting of the sea goddess standing naked atop a giant shell. Other paintings have depicted her as Asian, since ancient Greeks tended to agree that Aphrodite was of both Greek and foreign heritage. and as for VENUS Doom, it may have a source in here...(why there are two parts, venus and doom) By the late 5th century BCE, philosophers might separate Aphrodite into two separate goddesses, not individuated in cult: Aphrodite Urania, born from the foam after Cronos castrated Uranus, and Aphrodite Pandemos, the common Aphrodite "of all the folk", born from Zeus and Dione.Among the neo-Platonists and eventually their Christian interpreters, Aphrodite Urania figures as the celestial Aphrodite, representing the love of body and soul, while Aphrodite Pandemos is associated with mere physical love. Thus, according to Plato Aphrodite is two goddesses, one older the other younger. The older, Urania, is the daugher of Uranus[VENUS..? ]; the younger is named Pandemos, and is the daughter of Zeus and Dione. [DOOM ] Pandemos is the common Aphrodite. The speech of Pausanias distinguishes two manifestations of Aphrodite, represented by the two stories: Aphrodite Ourania ("heavenly" Aphrodite), and Aphrodite Pandemos ("Common" Aphrodite). Personally, i find it very interesting | |

| Interesting??? Sweety, this is VERY INTERESTING! A short lesson of ancient history,a very good one.I would never thought to something like this. Thanks,Jaana! Wow! It is such a beautiful explanation of the title of the new HIM album. Never crossed through my mind that Venus Doom has such a "historycal meaning". | |

| I mean Ville said in an interview that he doesn't watch tv... he reads! he reads a lot of course, he knows a lot of things that some of us are amazed to find out, and this is an advantage 4 us the fans...we directly beneffit of his inteligence as long as he writtes the songs. I can give u an example : "I'll be what I am, a solitary man" that's his favourite autodescrpition quote, Mihai Eminescu, one of Romania's best poets said: " eu raman ce-am fost, romanitic" which means, in English " I'll be what i was: a romantic man" I mean....Ville really reads a lot and he knows a lot of stuffs, I really was surprised that day when I realized this similie my whole respect | |

| I'll be what I am, a solitary man , well this is not Ville's line , the song is a cover but it's so true ! Ville is one of the best lyricists ever ! I admire his poetic side , that's why he is so much loved , it's not only about his looks , it's also about his beautiful ,poetic soul . This trait is so rare for a male in our days ..that i always said Ville has the sensibility of a woman . And yes is true he stays very much away from tv and computers ,reads a lot , he doesn't have an ipod too , he always has the cd player and a book with him ,i think he loves the old and healthy way of doing things and this is so great for his creativity ! We all know how much computers destroy our day to day lives and how good is to be free of all this dependencies ! | |
