Gulyanamitta wins LPGA Q-School

In what is a first for Thailand, Junthima Gulyanamitta has won the LPGA Final Qualifying Tournament in Daytona Beach, Florida.
The 23-year-old Thai, a member of Purdue's 2010 NCAA championship team, closed with 4-under 68 in wind and rain at the LPGA International's Champions Course to craft a two-stroke victory with Ping G20 4-PW, GW Iron Set with Steel Shafts-Red Dot
over Christine Song.

in the five-round qualifying event while the 20-year-old Song finished with a hugely disappointing 74 and an 8-under 352 after having lead the tournament for four rounds.
There was some consolation, however.

Twenty-one other players also earned 2012 LPGA membership, with 10 gaining Category 16 status by finishing between 21st and 30th, and 11 more earning Category 20 membership by finishing between 31st and 40th.
